GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
2012 Olympic Promotion Video: This is an important message for all Pine Ridge students and staff who were involved in the 2012 Olympic promotion video that was filmed at Pine Ridge last June. Segments of the film shoot will be broadcast on CTV this Sunday during the Super Bowl pre-game show and during the game (longer segments will be played during the pre-game show and shorter segments during the adctual game). Get your PVR's tuned up and ready to go, Pumas!
Black History Month: There is a celebration of Black History and Culture at Trent University Oshawa. More than 40 exhibitors and interactive showcases featuring Trent student researchers, community groups, activitists, local artists and more. It will be held on Friday, February 3, 2012 from 7-10 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.) at Trent University Oshawa (55 Thornton Road South, beside the Civic Centre). Community Service Hours: If you are interested in finding out what volunteer opportunities you can be a part of to collect your 40 hours of community service to graduate high school, stop by the Guidance Office bulletin boards and check out all of the options!
First Nation Social: Attention all indigenous folks! There is a big Drum First Nation Social at the downtown UOIT campus in Oshawa. There will be drumming, singing and free food. Mr. Davey hopes to see you there!
Green Ridge: There will be a Green Ridge meeting on Friday at lunch in Room 2066. New members are welcome.
Library Volunteers: All Library volunteers are asked to attend a brief meeting on Thursday at the beginning of lunch in the Library. We will set the volunteer schedule for Semester 2.
Library Volunteers - Part 2: There are just a few spots left on the volunteer schedule in the Library for Semester 2. If you were on the waiting list, or are interested in volunteering in the Library, come see Mrs. Wilkinson on Friday at lunch.

SPORTS
Pick-Up Sports: The large will be opening up for lunch time pick-up sports starting Monday, February 6. The following schedule will be used: Monday - Indoor Soccer, Tuesday - Basketball, Wednesday - Floor Hockey, Thursday - Basketball, Friday - Indoor Rugby. Only students who are participating in the daily events will be allowed in the gym. Participants must be changed! There will be no spectators! Phys. Ed. uniforms will not be loaned at lunch. All students are welcome to participate, with a special invitation to all Grade 9s.
Rugby (Senior Boys): There will be a very short but importan tmeeting in Room 2121 at lunch on Friday for all senior boys interested in playing on this year's Senior Boys' Rugby team. The meeting starts at 11:20 a.m. New players and those senior boys new to the school are welcome to attend. For more information, see Mr. Burford.
Volleyball (Girls): There is a very important meeting on Wednesday at lunch in Room 2121 for all Junior and Senior Girls Volleyball players.
