Q: Why is parental involvement important?
A: Parental involvement is essential to the success and well being of you child. Studies show that children whose parents are actively involved in their lives are more successful academically and socially than those who are not.
Q: How many volunteer hours am I required to do?
A: You may give as much time as you wish. There is no limit to how many hours you can spend helping out at Pine Ridge.
Q: What are the check-in procedures I need to follow when I come to volunteer?
A: There will be an orientation session upon your first visit, to familiarize you with Pine Ridge, its staff and students. On every visit, you will sign your name and duty in a volunteer binder. (See Parent Volunteer Activities)
Q: Do I need to call ahead to let someone know that I am coming in to volunteer?
A: Yes. You will be assigned a volunteer coordinator with whom you can arrange a schedule, or times and dates for your visits.
Q: Can I volunteer after school with extracurricular activities?
A: Your volunteer coordinator will have a calendar of monthly events which will outline all activities, both during school hours and after hours, with which you may volunteer. If an activity you would like to volunteer with is not listed, you must see the activity's supervisor or Mr. Blake for approval.
