Welcome to the CO-OPERATIVE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT
Department Head: Mrs. G. Sotiriou
The Co-operative Education program provides a valuable experience whereby students can earn credits towards a graduation diploma while working part of the school day. Students are placed in a meaningful work situation in the community with ongoing contact by their monitoring teacher.
Admission to the program and placement in a work station is determined after a personal interview with the Co-operative Education teachers in Room 3007. The student's past performance and attendance record will be considered in the selection process. Students may choose to take further placements in Co-op after completing all compulsory diploma requirements.
A separate application form and 3 teacher references for Co-operative Education must be completed and returned with the student's course selection sheet. These forms may be obtained from the Co-op Department. Some costs may be incurred by students depending on the placement (ex. transportation). Students will be informed prior to accepting a placements if any costs are involved.
